The Côte d'Azur.
The Côte d'Azur is a part of the French coastal region which is separated in the west from the city Cassis and in the east of Menton (on the Italian border). It covers the departments "Var", Alpes Maritimes, and the territory of the principality of Monaco.
It is framed in the north by the massive Maures and Estérel and the south Alps from whose summit one can admire the sea by the height of 3 000 meters.
The region on the edge of the coastal regions is strongly urbanized and it profits from a gentle and sunny climate. Nice, with its international airport, can be considered as the metropolis of the Côte d'Azur.
